Riding instructor, Hunter/jumper, eq.


On the brink of Summer, with demand for lessons continuing to rise, North Fork Equestrian is again expanding our winning team! We're seeking a talented riding instructor to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis.


Daily tasks include:

  • Teach students who want to ride leisurely or competitively

  • Help prepare for competitions like show jumping, eventing

  • Make sure health and safety rules are followed

  • Help horses and riders to warm up and cool down during training

  • Develop training programs tailored to individual riders.

  • Give practical, hands-on demonstrations

  • Help riders correct problems

  • Give feedback and keep records of rider development

  • Assess riders who are working towards qualifications


You'll need:

  • Knowledge of teaching and the ability to design courses.

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • The ability to work semi-independently

  • Strong leadership skills

  • To be thorough and pay attention to detail

  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • To be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device.

  • Responsibilities include:

  • Mucking stalls

  • Feed preparation & distribution

  • Cleaning & refilling water containers

  • Grooming & bathing

  • Cleaning tack

  • Wrapping

  • Tacking

  • Turnout

  • Basic first aid

  • Cleaning & Maintaining facility and grounds

  • Other duties as assigned


Must be dedicated, detail-oriented, able to lift 50+ lbs.

* Training experience a big plus.
